This year, American Express participated as a sponsor for the Charity Open, and the prize money increased from 30 million won last year to 50 million won.
In this Charity Tournament, Choi Na-yeon, who retired from the LPGA last year, Lee Dae-ho, a professional baseball star who also finished her 20-year career as a player last year, and Choo Seong-hun, who is active in martial arts despite her age, will compete. Stars also participate.
The players are divided into Choi Gyeong-ju, Choo Seong-hun, Lee Dae-ho, Park Ji-eun, and Park Sang-hyun, Kim Han-byeol, Choi Na-yeon, and Kim Ha-neul in the second group. Each group will bet 20 million won in prize money and will play a skins game. Each team plays four-ball for the first 4 holes, four-ball for the next 4 holes, and four-ball again for the last 9 holes. The turnaround at the end is also worth looking forward to. In addition, in the last 9th hole, the Skills Challenge, in which points are scored by sending the ball to a designated spot, is played as a game within the game, and an additional prize of 5 million won is paid to the winning team.
The charitable funds obtained by the players will be donated in full under the names of the players, and using this fund, the ‘2nd SK Telecom Adaptive Open’ will be held in the second half of the year in which people with developmental disabilities participate.
Since last year, SK Telecom has been sponsoring Lee Seung-min, the first professional golfer with developmental disabilities and the winner of the 2022 US Adaptive Open.
